Floors Built to Last a Lifetime: The Story of Santa Maria City Hall

When you invest in new flooring for your home, you want to know that your investment is going to last. You want to trust that the materials are top notch and that the installers know exactly what they are doing. At Valley Flooring Carpet One, we do not just promise that kind of quality. We have the proof right down the street at Santa Maria City Hall.
If you have ever walked through the long central hallway of City Hall, you have walked on a piece of local history.
Back in the summer of 1969, our very own Ron Ferrari paired up with installer Babe Litten to lay down a brand new floor for the city. The project required a heavy duty, commercial grade Armstrong sheet vinyl featuring a distinct stone chip pattern designed to complement the Moorish architecture of the building, originally designed by architect Louis N. Crawford.

To make sure the floor could handle the heavy foot traffic of a busy municipal hub, Ron and Babe used a high grade epoxy resin base to float and seal the material. They did not cut corners, they did not rush the job, and they used the absolute best installation products available.
The result speaks for itself.
Decades later, that exact same floor is still there. It has survived millions of footsteps, rolling equipment, and decades of daily wear and tear without pitting, lifting, or peeling. In fact, many locals agree that it looks even better today than it did the day it was finished.
That is the difference that comes with experienced, dedicated craftsmanship. Many flooring companies rely on a constant turnover of temporary subcontractors. At Valley Flooring Carpet One, we rely on our own consistent team of seasoned professionals who treat every single job like they are flooring a landmark.
Whether you are looking to update a single bathroom or remodel your entire home, we bring that exact same standard of excellence to your front door. We look at our relationship with you as a lifelong commitment, and we stand behind every single stitch of carpet and plank of wood we lay down.
