This year Valley Flooring Carpet One of Santa Maria is celebrating our 56th year of serving the Central Coast. This kind of longevity is seldom seen in business these days. It’s nice to know that the company you buy your floors from will be there to serve you the next time you go to buy flooring. We are serving customers today whose grandparents bought flooring from us 56 years ago. And we’ll be there to serve their grandchildren. We’re not going anywhere.
It all started back in 1968 when Ron Ferrari and his partner, Dennis Jensen, opened a storefront in the Stowell Center Plaza. Then in 1972 they built the 16,000 sf store which is still located at 1133 West Cook Street. Throughout the next 50 years the Central Coast has seen many businesses come and go but Valley Flooring has consistently been there the entire time. We have installed floors in many of the Central Coast’s most notable buildings including the Madonna Inn,Santa Maria City Hall, Albertson’s in Orcutt, Ashley Furniture showroom in Santa Maria, Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch, the Victorian Mansion at Los Alamos,Santa Lucia Bank in Santa Maria, Santa Ynez High School as well as thousands and thousands of individual homes.
In 1995 Valley Flooring joined the powerhouse flooring co-op Carpet One. Joining Carpet One has allowed us to tap into the buying power of nearly 2,000 stores. Buying together allows us to negotiate the best prices. We also run our own trucks to lower freight costs. All of these benefits are passed along to our customers giving them the best value for their dollar. Carpet One also does an excellent job of training salespeople. So when you shop at Carpet One you can be assured that you will be helped by someone who is knowledgeable and helpful. Our sales staff also has over 100 years of combined experience in the flooring industry. Ron Ferrari has been in flooring for over 50 years starting as an installer and then opening his own store.
The Ferrari family have been residents on the Central Coast since the late 1800’s. Ron spent his early years working on a dairy and began installing carpet while he was still in high school. Eventually he decided to open a carpet store with his friend, Dennis Jensen. Unfortunately Dennis passed away in 2004. Since then Valley Flooring Carpet One of Santa Maria has been run by Ron and his son, Eric.
Our ties to the community make us not only a store where our customers will receive the best value, but you can count on us to be there for you before, during and after the sale. We look at our relationship with our customers as a long-term commitment. A customer of ours is a customer for life. Anyone who has not been in our store really needs to stop in sometime and take a look. People are always amazed when they enter our showroom for the first time. They don’t realize that we have over 3,000 area rugs which is the largest selection of area rugs from Los Angeles to San Francisco. You really do have to see it to believe it.
